Quick family update

Just a quick update, since I know quite a few of our family members and close friends from the church check here regularly.

I just got a call from Thomas, and "Shebird" is out of surgery. The report from the surgeon is that everything went well, there were no major surprises, and they "accomplished everything they had expected at the outset." I take this to mean that they got the main tumor and the secondary lump. Don't know yet about post-surgery radiation, etc.

Please keep T & T in your prayers. I will hopefully have a better update by this evening to share at prayer service.

FOLLOW-UP, Thursday 11/17, 9:00 am: I talked with the kids again this morning. Shebird is in a lot of pain but doing okay. She was originally scheduled to go home today (insurance only pays for one night at the hospital after this type of cancer surgery), but she has had a lot more bleeding and seepage and much more pain than anticipated. The nurse indicated to Thomas this morning that they might keep her over a little longer if she has not improved by early afternoon. I'll pass on any other news I get. - Pops

Dear friends, know that we are praying for you daily and even hourly. The Lord who gives us strength and healing will uphold you in this time of need.

To all, Beulah and I visited with T&T at the hospital last evening. She is in pain, but in good spirits, and giving God the glory for watching over her. Apparently she was quoting scriptures to the nurses and attendees as they wheeled her into surgery yesterday morning, and her room seems to have more "official" visitors (nurses, attendees, et al) than any of the surrounding rooms. One of the ladies I met in the hall remarked at how full of grace and joy she seemed, in spite of the pain and all she has gone through with her recent chemo. Please continue to lift her up in your prayers.

To "anonimous": I cannot beleive you would spew such vile hatred toward such a sweet and beautiful lady of God. This lady and her family is quietly suffering and you presume to preach to them and curse them at the same time? Unbeleivable and disgusting! Next time post your name and let's have an honest discussion, but not at Shebird's expense!

Anonymous (comment #8): get a life! And take it elsewhere, while you're at it.

I assume when you mention "holy men" that you are talking about people like Louis Farrakan, Jesse Jackson and such? Even men like these (whom I do NOT believe speak for God, by the way) would not wish such ill on someone like Shebird. It is because of idiots like you that people like Songbird try to expose the hypocrisy of these so-called "men of God".

Gentlemen, please! This is not the place for that!

To everyone else, thank you for all your words of kindness and concern. With a few notable exceptions, I have passed on everyone's comments to Shebird and Songbird. As soon as I have any more word from them, I will pass it on here.
